By the village of Papan, Fergana, Kyrgyzstan. A.S. Telenkov, 1964 (468, p.84). The stratigraphic name is used limitedly.

Reddish sandstones, siltstone (aleurolites), gravelites, conglomerates. Thickness 40-878m.

Lower contact
Lies unconformably on the Kaplankul Fm or Aldyr Fm

Overlain unconformably by the Akburin Fm
Regional extent
Fergana. Corresponds to the brown suite. In the 1st scheme of N.P. Vasilkovsky (126). Correlated with the Akchop suite of NW Fergana and the Tavildar suite of Darvaz (Tajikistan), (166)
